A Perfect Summer Wedding at Botleys Mansion

Hayley and Adam celebrated their breathtaking summer wedding at Botleys Mansion, a luxury Surrey wedding venue owned by Harper Weddings. As a Surrey wedding photographer, I was so happy to capture every beautiful moment of their special day.

From the moment I arrived, the venue was picture-perfect, despite the morning’s rain. As the sun broke through the clouds, it cast a golden glow over the luxury Surrey wedding venue, setting the scene for an unforgettable day.

Botleys Mansion is absolutely stunning. It’s one of the Harper Weddings venues in Surrey. It’s all that you would want from a Surrey wedding venue - the architecture is light and stylish - the sweeping staircase outside is a gift for Reception Drinks outside as well as the perfectly green gardens and nearby Home park for photographs. The building is filled with natural light - as a photographer, I love natural light. It means that I can photograph the day without being noticed - a must for candid moments. The grounds are perfect. There is just the right amount of perfectly designed garden and wild parkland should you cross over the bridge to Homewood Park and all close at hand so my lovely Bride and Groom are not far away from their guests.

Bridal Preparations in the Elegant Bridal Suite

Hayley and her bridesmaids got ready in the lavish Bridal Suite at Botleys Mansion. She had six bridesmaids, including two who were expecting, making it an extra special gathering. Her talented friend, Saria, applied flawless makeup, while Emily of Surrey Bridal Hair styled everyone’s hair beautifully.

Adam and his Groomsmen wore Black Tie. They looked rather good! One of my hidden talents, having attended a few weddings, is that I'm a dab hand with placing buttonholes and was quickly able to attach everyone’s buttonholes! Then obviously mock up the boys doing their own..looks good!

When the Father of the Bride gets ready with the Groom you know you have a keeper! The atmosphere was so warm. Hayley had given Groomens' Gifts to her lovely Groom Adam and his boys - no more so than the most beautiful cuff links. Adam’s mum had sadly passed away and Hayley had had a portrait of Adam and his Mum etched into a set of silver cuff links. The Groom was speechless - and there were tears - love tears on a wedding day - especially from the Groom.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation. Hayley’s Chief Bridesmaid took her role seriously, wearing cotton gloves to protect the wedding dress while helping Hayley into it. The emotional first look of the Bridal dress by Hayley's father brought tears to everyone’s eyes—moments like these are why I adore being a Surrey wedding photographer. I am a big romantic!

An Emotional Wedding Ceremony in The Green Room

The wedding ceremony took place in The Green Room, a stunning space inside Botleys Mansion, elegantly decorated with silk flowers and an arch—an eco-friendly choice.

In a beautiful twist of fate, Hayley discovered her neighbour Robyn Taylor, a talented vocalist, rehearsing through the wall just weeks before the wedding. She instantly knew she had to have Robyn sing at her ceremony. The bridal party entered to Robyn’s mesmerising voice, making for an unforgettable entrance.

As Hayley walked down the aisle with her father, emotions ran high. Tears of joy were shed by many - it's a photographer's dream to catch so many tears (sounds so wrong), especially by the Mother of the Bride. I made sure to record each beautiful moment for my Bride and Groom to look back on, from the vows to the emotional exchange of rings.

A Magical Reception at Botleys Mansion

After the ceremony, guests gathered outside while the newlyweds shared a private moment. They made their grand entrance down the sweeping Botleys Mansion staircase, showered in confetti and sunshine—a truly perfect moment!

Romantic Portraits in the Botleys Mansion Gardens

The lush Surrey countryside surrounding Botleys Mansion provided the perfect backdrop for their couple’s portraits. With the sun casting a golden glow, Hayley and Adam looked absolutely radiant. Their love and happiness made my job effortless—this is why I love photographing weddings at wonderful luxury Surrey wedding venues! Such a tough job!

A Stunning Wedding Breakfast in The Atrium

The wedding breakfast took place in Botleys Mansion’s Atrium, a magnificent chandelier-lit space. The couple’s sustainable décor choices continued with silk flowers and a Remembrance Table honouring loved ones who couldn’t be there.

The Entrance of the Bride and Groom

Hayley and Adam’s grand entrance down the white staircase was met with wild cheers and applause.

After the incredibly delicious meal the speeches began - the Father of the Bride first - to his little girl - the Bride.

The Best Man had everyone in fits of laughter before bringing the room to tears with his touching tribute to the Groom's mother and the Aunt who had helped bring him up.

A Toast from the Mother of the Bride

After the Groom had toasted his beautiful bride, surprisingly, the Mother of the Bride stood up. She had a speech from the Bride’s brother who couldn’t be with them - poor Hayley was blown away by this but quickly recomposed herself - enough to tell her mum off for the surprise!

Then it was time to cut their amazing wedding cake.

Dancing the Night Away

Following a short break in the gardens, the evening festivities began. Robyn Taylor performed once again, serenading the couple for their First Dance and the emotional Father-Daughter Dance. It was incredible to think she was discovered just next door!

My night ended with candid captures of guests dancing and celebrating under the grand chandeliers of Botleys Mansion. Hayley and Adam’s wedding was an unforgettable experience, filled with love, laughter, and elegant touches befitting such a gorgeous Surrey wedding venue.

Thank you Hayley and Adam for having me - it was wonderful!

Hayley and Adam said about me in their 5* review -

"We could not be happier with the service that Gill provided to us before, during and after our wedding day. After being let down by another photographer and putting out a message online, Gill emailed and called to have a chat about everything. I felt at ease immediately knowing we were in great hands. On the day she understood what we wanted and half the time we didn’t even notice she was there. Everyone at the wedding said she was fun, energetic and super friendly, exactly how we felt too. Our photos are perfect, could not have asked for more. An absolute pleasure to work with her and would recommend to anyone."
