Dear New Mum, You Deserve to Be Your Newborn Photographs Too.
If you’ve just had a baby and you’re somewhere in Surrey or South London, I see you! You are probably tired and running on very little sleep. Your body aches and you haven’t had five minutes to yourself to have a shower, let alone time to do your hair. And when I say, “Would you like to be in a few photos with your baby?” I see that look, the one that says, “Not today. I don’t look my best. Let’s just focus on baby.”

New Mums - Why You Should Be in your Newborn Photos, Even If You Don’t Feel “Ready to be seen”
But here’s the truth: You absolutely should be in your newborn photoshoot! Even if you don't feel your normal self quite yet. Not because you’ve “got it all together.” Not because you’ve put on some make up or that you're in the only nice outfit that you can get on at the moment. But because you are a Mum! This is what you'll look back on in years to come - how small your baby was and how young you looked - when you had your new baby. You're at the centre of your baby’s world right now - and you should celebrate that - even if you are a little shell shocked.

Being Present in your Family
Your baby doesn’t care what you look like. What they’ll care about one day is that you were there. Holding them close to you. Mums are so often the ones behind the camera, not in front of it. But you deserve gorgeous, properly lit portraits too — not just snaps on a phone. You're part of the story.

A Decade Photographing Newborns in The Homes of Families in Surrey and South London
As a newborn photographer with over 10 years of experience, I travel to families across Surrey and South London - from Kingston to Guildford and Woking to Richmond, Wimbledon, Croydon and lots of Epsom for some reason. I bring everything with me: my studio consists of backgrounds, wraps, lighting, and gorgeous props. Oh, and so many tiny teddies too!
No packing bags. No rushing to get out the door. No stress.
Your baby’s first photoshoot happens in the comfort of your home where you’re at your most comfortable. You deserve that.

What Really Matters in These Newborn Photos - You & Your New Baby
But more than the setups and props, what I really want to capture is this: You and Your Baby. Together. I will always guide you and pose you in a flattering way - I am a mum myself so I do understand.
If you've had a c-section or just a 'normal' birth I will make sure you are covered - your partner will be on hand to help - whatever makes you comfortable. I work quickly so you won't be standing about or sitting posing with your baby for long - and I am also a whizz at retouching so please don't worry if you feel at all "not yourself." Love is a beautiful thing however much sleep you've had.

These Photographs Are for You and Your Baby
You’ll be so glad you did.
And one day in the future - when you've all had some sleep, your new person will look at that photo and they’ll see you there, holding them, loving them. Even on the days when you didn’t feel your best and that photograph will mean everything to you both.
