The Dorchester - an English wedding for Americans, Sue & Bill.

Americans Sue and Bill had lived in London but had moved back to the United States. However, their love of London brought them back for their wedding. They married in the American International Church and held their wedding reception at luxurious Dorchester Hotel located next to Hyde Park in Mayfair, London

Sue and her Bridesmaids assembled in the Bridal Suite at The Dorchester. The morning was calm and relaxed. Sue’s parents, a State Governor and Judge, were present too.

The Bride’s father added last minute details to his speech for later that day. Moments I love to capture.

The Bride's Mother and Matron of Honour helped Sue into her dress.

The Bride and Groom travelled to The American International Church for their wedding ceremony in a wonderfully air conditioned BMV.

The wedding ceremony was personal and warm with so much love.

One of my favourite reportage photographs taken on the day was just as the Bride getting into the wedding car. ( I happen to know that the Bride’s mother has this picture on the wall of her office because she finds the image so calming in her busy life). The veil was perfectly held by Sue’s Maid of Honour.

Her parents simply walked back to the hotel, while I escaped with Sue and Bill in their lovely cool car for some portraits.

Sue and Bill held their Wedding Reception in the oak paneled Holford Room of the Dorchester. The Holford Room is one of the few rooms still entirely intact in design from the opening of The Dorchester in 1931.

This is perfectly located next to the Orchid Room where Sue and Bill held their Wedding Breakfast. The Wedgwood-inspired interior and gentle lighting create a room of calm elegance and historical beauty. The Bride and Groom had chosen to complement the calmness of the room with cream roses and white table linen and chair covers.

Family speeches complemented by wonderfully emotional speeches from friends brought tears to the Bride.

Still perfectly tear stained, Sue and Bill cut their three tiered wedding cake before the First Dance.

There are so many smiles, laughter and tears. They were beautiful.
